By His Grace
It says in Ephesians 2:8, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God." As born-again believers, we have experienced the sweet nectar of His grace through salvation. Because of what we have experienced, we understand that we are unworthy to receive this marvelous grace.
What is this grace? We find the most defined way is, God's unmerited favor. If we were to translate that into hillbilly, we would say, "God giving us what we don't deserve." We all deserved hell, but amazingly, through His grace we are not hell-bound any longer, we are heaven-bound. But grace just doesn't stop because we got saved, it continues through the abundance of His goodness as we serve Him. We are smart of enough to realize that His grace has been around for along time, like from the beginning.
Let's look through the telescope of time in the beginning. We see God's grace as He paints a beautiful canvas of creation. In the highlight of His creation we zoom in on Adam and Eve. Imagine being in a perfect atmosphere, a perfect environment, with a perfect body and mind? Imagine fellowshipping with God the Creator in the cool of the day? Imagine not seeing a society or a mind that has been ravaged by sin? Imagine only receiving one rule, one command in this perfect creation? unfortunately, the only thing we can do is imagine. We see with all they had going for them, they still blowed it. We don't have to imagine, we can empathize with them on 'blowing it.'
No doubt, because Adam 'blowed it (sinned),' that sin nature has been passed down to all generations. What a horrible tragedy! Now this is where it takes a huge turn, by God's wonderful grace, He outfitted Adam and Eve with "coats of skins." You see, there has to be a sacrifice for sin. Not only did He sacrifice animal(s) for them, He sets the stage for Who is to come.
If we were to sum up His Grace and we can't, we can see His grace written from the very beginning, through every book in the Bible, and to every born-again believer. This tells us something wonderful, He LOVES us. He is head over heels in love with us. It's by His Grace!
